Mary has worked in watercolor and other mediums, but botanical graphite drawing is her favorite method of exploring the beauty of plants. Mary has always been intrigued with the smallest details in the vast landscape surrounding us. To see and understand a leaf, stem or flower has given her a greater appreciation of the natural environment.  She uses composition, value, negative spaces and a small amount of color to attract the viewer for a closer inspection. It is then Mary can share her personal response to the intimate spaces and details of nature. Her graphite renderings capture these unique qualities and details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Mary is a member of Oregon Society of Artists, North Clackamas Art Guild, Canby Art Association, and Three Rivers Artist Guild. Her work has been shown at the Three Rivers Gallery in Oregon City and Wallflowers Gallery in Canby, Oregon.
